Hair Pins
Hairpin Cotter Pins, often referred to as hitch pin clips, secure the ends of hitch pins by being inserted into a hole at the end of the hitch pin to eliminate the chance of the pin falling out. These are most often found securing pins in wheels, axles, rotary machines and trailer hitches.

Detent pins are designed for temporary quick disconnect applications. The pin has a ball bearing on one end with a steel spring that depresses and pops out to lock the pin into place. These work well with applications requiring constant assembly or disassembly.
