Hand held pounding tools for masonry, construction, and dry walling.  Claw and framing hammers use their flat face to strike and their claw end to pry. These hammers are commonly used to install nails, remove nails, and perform light demolition.

A chipping hammer is a tool used to remove welding slag from a weld and welding spatter from along side welds. Used by carefully swinging and hitting the weld to shatter the slag. To remove spatter, use the wide flat part of the chipping hammer and slide along the surface of the job.
