Hex Lag Screws

Hex lag screws or hex bolts are used in wood construction for applications requiring a heavier load. The thicker shaft and course threads grip into the wood creating a firm hold. These differences are what separates them from wood screws. The hex head is driven with a wrench. Plain finish works well in dry environments and dark surfaces while the zinc coating offers corrosion resistance in wet environments. Hot dipped galvanized coating on the lag screws offers an even better corrosion resistance than the zinc plated coating and is good for ACQ-treated lumber.
